Day 1: London - Delhi - Kathmandu

Depart London Heathrow, flying Jet Airways via Delhi to Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu

Arriving this afternoon into Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital city, your guide will meet you and transfer you to the Hotel Himalaya for 2 nights.

Day 3: Kathmandu

Visit Swayambhunath, Kathmandu’s most ancient and enigmatic holy shrine famed for its glittering golden spire. Enjoy the architectural wonders of the Kathmandu valley, home to some of the country’s most spectacular masterpieces and well preserved medieval trading towns. Afternoon at leisure, followed by a Nepalese dinner with traditional cultural performances. (B/D)

Day 4: Kathmandu – Bandipur

Journey in the morning to Gorkha Durbar Palace – home of the first King of Nepal, which has astounding views overlooking the peaks of the Himalayas. Your tour continues to Bandipur, a living museum of Newari culture where over 70% of buildings are traditional structures. Overnight at the Gaun Ghar Resort. (B/D)

Day 5: Bandipur – River Camp

Wander through a genuine Newari market before heading to the starting point for river-rafting on Trisuli River. Overnight in a tented camp by the riverbank, a perfect opportunity to soak up this gloriously tranquil and unspoilt region. (B/L/D)

Day 6: Naranghat – Chitwan

Enjoy breakfast by the banks of the river before continuing rafting to Gaighat, then head to Chitwan National Park. Stay at the Machan Paradise View Resort for 2 nights. (B/L/D)

Day 7: Chitwan National Park

Take an elephant trek, a great way to see the wildlife, go in search of tigers, the single horn rhinoceros which Chitwan is famous for, as well as over 50 species of mammal including leopard, sloth bear and 400 species of bird. (B/L/D)

Day 8: Chitwan – Pokhara

Drive to Pokhara in the morning, then spend the afternoon enjoying the incredible rising backdrop of the Annapurna range and the famous ‘fishtail’ of Mount Machhapuchhare. Take a relaxing boat ride on Lake Phewa. Stay 2 nights at the Pokhara Grande. (B)

Day 9: Pokhara

Day at leisure in Nepal’s adventure capital; visit the city’s temples or gain an insight into the ethnic mosaic of western Nepal in the Pokhara Museum. (B)

Day 10: Pokhara – Ghandrung – Trek

Begin your fully portered trek from Pokhara, the ideal way to experience Nepal’s unbeatable combination of natural beauty and culture, encountering small mountain villages surrounded by the magnificent presence of the Himalayan peaks – providing awe-inspiring panoramic views. Overnight in a comfortable, locally owned teahouse in the Ghandrung area, truly benefiting and interacting with the local community and giving an insight into the Nepalese people and their lives. Please note that on the first day of the trek, it does include climbing a considerable number of steep steps, we recommend that you have a good level of fitness in order for you to fully enjoy this trek. Day 11: Ghandrung – Jhinu Danda – Trek

Continue trekking through the day, finishing with the opportunity of bathing in the hot springs of Jhinu Danda. (B/L/D)

Day 12: Jhinu Danda – Pothana – Trek

Experience stunning panoramic views on the final day of your trek. Overnight at a Tea House. (B/L/D)

Day 13: Pothana – Nagarkot

Enjoy the breathtaking sunrise in Pothana; overlooking the lush forests and peaks of the Himalayas. Transfer to Pokhara airport for your short flight to Kathmandu and transfer by road to Nagarkot in the Kathmandu Valley. Overnight stay at the Country Villa. (B)

Day 14: Nagarkot - Kathmandu

Hike through the thickly-forested hills and pine trees, overlooking the Kathmandu Valley with views of the majestic Mount Everest, culminating in the beautiful ancient Hindu shrine of Changu Narayan – one of Nepal’s best kept secrets. Return by road to Kathmandu in the afternoon. Stay 2 nights at the Hotel Himalaya. (B)

Day 15: Kathmandu

Day at leisure to relax, go shopping and explore more of this fascinating and atmospheric city, or there is the option of taking an incredible Everest flight. Enjoy a final dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)

Day 16: Kathmandu – London

Fly from Kathmandu via Delhi on Jet Airways back to London Heathrow, arriving this evening. (B)

  • Climate-The climate of Nepal varies from warm summers with mild winters in the low-lying southern region, to alpine conditions with very severe winters in the mountains. Between December and February temperatures drop well below freezing in the mountains. The best time to travel to Nepal for trekking is in early spring or late autumn, when the weather is dry and the temperature is mild.
